Temperature Control Window Film
Got a room that’s too hot to sit in by mid-afternoon? 3M heat control film rejects up to 78% of the sun’s heat at the glass. You keep the view and the light, and you can use the room again.

How temperature control film works
The film goes straight onto your existing glass. Microscopic layers inside it reflect and absorb the part of sunlight you feel as heat, while most of the visible light passes through. The room stops heating up by the window, and the AC isn’t chasing hot spots all afternoon.
- Rejects up to 78% of the sun’s heat (best 3M film)
- Blocks up to 99% of UV rays
- Keeps a clear, natural view
- Professionally installed in a day
Film options for temperature control
3M offers several heat-control film families for homes. Each one balances heat rejection, light and look in a different way. Click a series to compare it.
Want a room that stays cooler without going dark? A light, spectrally selective film is usually the answer. Want more shade? A darker tint adds glare control as well.
Heat control films that differ in shade and heat rejection
3M Prestige 70
The lightest choice. Nearly invisible on the glass, for rooms where light and view matter most.
3M Prestige 50
A balanced choice for rooms that get strong sun for part of the day.
3M Prestige 40
More heat rejection for west-facing rooms and large picture windows.
3M Night Vision 25
A darker smoke tint for hot, glary rooms, with a clear view out at night.

How Engineered Group handles temperature control
We start in your home. We check which rooms overheat and when, look at the glass, and talk through what you want to keep (the light, the view, the look from the street). Then we recommend a film and install it with our own crew.
Learn more about sun control film
Window film for living rooms
Big glass and long afternoons turn living rooms into hot spots. A light Prestige film takes the heat out and keeps the room bright.

Window film for bedrooms
Morning sun on east-facing bedrooms heats the room before the alarm goes off. Film keeps them cooler without blackout curtains.

Window film for kitchens
Kitchens already make their own heat. Film on the windows over the sink and breakfast nook stops the sun from adding more.

Window film for sunrooms
Sunrooms and Florida rooms are mostly glass. Film makes them usable in the afternoon instead of only in winter.
